Is this feeling familiar to you? Doubting that you hadn’t really earned your accomplishment and your ideas and skills aren’t worthy of others’ attention? This feeling has a name “impostor syndrome”.
People who are highly skilled or accomplished tend to think others are just as skilled. They don’t share their great ideas because of the feeling of imposterism. They are also afraid that if they ask their performance, their fears will be confirmed. And even they receive positive feedback, it often fails to ease feelings of fraudulence.
What to do about it? To talk 🙂 Receiving positive feedback. And make sure that awareness also helps.
