However, according to two psychologists; the key to motivation is giving advice, not receiving it.
“Although giving advice confers no new information to the advice giver, we thought it would increase the advice giver’s confidence,” they write.

Think about it: you don’t want to get out of bed and exercise but after you tell someone else to do so you will probably feel more motivated.
